EarlyON Child and Family Centre
Monthly Calendar & Season Schedule

The EarlyON Centre is a place where parents, caregivers and children 0-6 years of age can play and learn together.

At the EarlyON Centre, parents, caregivers and children can take part in a range of programs and activities, feel supported and share parenting information, receive information about programs and services that are available for young children, and talk to Early Years professionals as well as other parents and caregivers.

There is no cost to attend any of our programs or activities.

Come & Play

Come & Play sessions are offered on a drop-in basis with a variety of activities. No pre-registration is required.

Post Natal Programs

We offer programming for families with newborns and infants.

Parenting Courses and Groups

Along with Community Partners we offer a range of courses and groups to support parents and caregivers with healthy family development.

Early Learning Opportunities

We offer programming that supports early learning opportunities focused on literacy and numeracy development. Early learning opportunities and activities are also incorporated into all of our EarlyON programs and courses.

Connections Dads Activities Committee (CDAC)

New members welcome! Please call the Centre for CDAC meeting dates. A group of dads who plan, sponsor and implement activities for families and their children 0 – 6 years of age.

Weekly Sessions:

 

Come and Play

Come play, participate in early learning activities, and enjoy a snack! These sessions also provide an opportunity to discuss parenting and child development with experienced staff. 

Expecting & Connecting with the MCEC on Zoom

Mondays | 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

The Midwifery Collective of Essex County hosts an ongoing, online postpartum group for parents and newborns. To pre-register, call the Midwifery Collective of Essex County at 519.252.4700. 

B.A.B.Y. Group (Jan. 11th – Mar. 29th):

Wednesdays | 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Join us for one or all of our weekly afternoon Come & Play sessions, starting November 3rd, for a group experience focused on oral storytelling. You and your child will learn how to use rhymes, songs, and stories together! 

Programs & Courses:

Parenting Connections (Jan. 10th – Mar. 28th):

Tuesdays | 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Facilitated group discussions with experienced staff about a variety of parenting topics, based on participants’ interests. 

Legacy for Children (Jan. 12th – Mar. 23rd):

Thursdays | 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

For babies born between March and August in 2022. A parenting program provided by the Windsor-Essex Health Unit (WECHU). Provides a place to connect with other moms and learn how to support your child’s development. Discussion will focus on preparing for your baby, bonding, caring for both yourself and your baby and supporting your baby’s growth and development. Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting (Jan. 24th – Mar. 7th):

Tuesdays | 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Based on the work of Joan Durrante, this program sets out four clear principles for positive discipline: goal setting, creating a positive home environment, understanding how children think and feel, and problem-solving in challenging situations. 

Parenting Connections (Mar. 31st – Apr. 27th):

Thursdays | 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Parents of children entering school for the first time will have an opportunity to network with other parents and receive information about how to make the transition to school a successful one.
